Big Mac Copycat
A homemade recreation of the iconic McDonald's Big Mac burger, featuring two beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a three-part sesame seed bun.
Ingredients
- 0.5 lb ground beef
- 1 three-part bun sesame seed bun
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 0.5 tsp white vinegar
- 0.25 tsp paprika
- 0.25 tsp garlic powder
- 0.25 tsp onion powder
- 2 slices American cheese slices
- 2 leaves iceberg lettuce
- 4 slices dill pickle slices
- 2 tbsp white onion
- salt
- black pepper
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Make the special sauce by combining mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Divide the ground beef into 2 equal portions and form into thin patties slightly larger than your bun. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Top each patty with a slice of American cheese in the last minute of cooking.
- Lightly butter the sesame seed bun and toast it in the skillet or on the griddle until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the burger: Spread special sauce on the bottom bun, add shredded lettuce, then the first beef patty with cheese, then add more special sauce, diced onions, and pickle slices on the middle bun section.
- Top with the second beef patty with cheese, more special sauce, and the top bun.
- Serve immediately while warm.
