Quick Garlic Butter Udon Noodles
A simple, quick dish perfect for busy nights featuring Korean udon noodles with garlic butter sauce
Ingredients
- 700 g Korean udon noodles (fresh wheat noodles)
- 10 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 0.25 tsp chili flakes
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp parmesan
- 2 tbsp chili oil
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 0.25 cup reserved noodle water
Instructions
- Cook the Korean udon noodles according to package directions, reserving 1/4 cup of noodle water before draining
- Melt unsalted butter in a large pan over medium heat
- Add minced or sliced garlic and chili flakes, stirring until fragrant
- Add the cooked udon noodles to the pan
- Pour in soy sauce, chili oil, and sugar (if using)
- Toss everything together, adding reserved noodle water as needed to create a light sauce
- Top with grated parmesan cheese and serve immediately
