Authentic Zhug Sauce
A spicy Arabic green herb sauce with fresh parsley, cilantro, garlic, green chilli, lemon juice, olive oil, and warm spices like cumin or cardamom. Perfect for serving with lamb roast.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Fresh parsley
- 1 cup Fresh cilantro
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 2 piece Green chilli
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 0.5 teaspoon Ground cumin
- 0.25 teaspoon Ground cardamom
Instructions
- In a blender or food processor, combine parsley, cilantro, garlic, green chilli, lemon juice, and olive oil.
- Blend the mixture until smooth.
- Add cumin and cardamom, and blend until well combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Transfer the Zhug sauce to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
