Cajun Shrimp Garlic Bread
This creamy and cheesy Cajun shrimp garlic bread combines juicy prawns with a rich, spiced tomato cream sauce served over garlic butter-spread bread. Ingredients
- sourdough bread
- mozzarella cheese
- 40 g butter
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tbsp mixed herbs/parsley
- salt
- pepper
- 250 g shrimp/king prawn
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 0.5 tsp paprika powder
- oil
- 0.5 onion
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2.5 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 0.5 tbsp paprika powder
- 0.5 tbsp chilli flakes
- 300 ml cream
- chilli flakes
- parsley
Instructions
- Marinate your shrimp/king prawns with the Cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, paprika powder, and garlic powder.
- Combine the softened butter, garlic cloves, garlic powder, mixed herbs/parsley, salt, and pepper for the garlic butter and set aside.
- Preheat your oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
- Cut your bread in half horizontally or use bread of choice with flat surface.
- Optionally, take out the inner soft part of the bread to create a crater for topping.
- Spread garlic butter on generously.
- Cook your prawns on a hot pan on each side for 2 minutes and set aside.
- In the same pan, add your tomato paste and diced onion until translucent and oil has turned red from the tomato paste.
- Add your Cajun seasoning, paprika powder, and chilli flakes and cook for a couple minutes.
- Add your cream and let it thicken. Season your sauce as needed.
- Add your sauce to the garlic bread.
- Spread a generous amount of cheese, then your shrimp/king prawns on top. Optionally, drizzle some sauce over the prawns.
- Bake your garlic bread for 10 minutes.
- Garnish with chilli flakes and parsley, and enjoy.
