Ingredients

  • 450 g bread flour
  • 1.063 cup warm milk
  • 58 g butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 8 oz mozzarella, shredded
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and garlic powder. Knead the dough, adding the softened butter gradually, until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise for 1–1½ hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll the dough into a rectangle. Spread the softened butter over it, then sprinkle with mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, parsley, garlic powder, and salt. Cut into strips, stack them, and place them into a greased loaf pan.
  5. Let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Mix the melted butter, parsley, and garlic powder, then brush it over the hot bread as soon as it comes out of the oven.
