Spicy Garlic Beef Stir-Fry
Juicy strips of beef are tossed with vibrant red bell peppers, green onions, and a bold garlic-chili sauce in this quick and flavorful stir-fry. Packed with savory and spicy notes, this dish is the perfect weeknight dinner that comes together in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak
- 1 red bell pepper
- 3 green onions
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 0.25 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 0.5 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp cornstarch
Instructions
- Combine beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp cornstarch, and 1 tsp sesame oil. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
- Whisk together 0.25 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, 0.5 cup beef broth, and 1 tsp cornstarch. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Stir-fry beef for 3–4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry red bell peppers and green onions for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Return beef to the skillet. Pour in the sauce. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything.
- Sprinkle with extra chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
