Char Siu Ramen Noodle Soup
A delicious and comforting Asian-inspired dish made with wavy ramen noodles, clear or brown broth, sliced BBQ pork (char siu), and traditional ramen toppings.
Ingredients
- 0.5 package Ramen Noodles
- 1 pound Pork Shoulder
- 0.25 cup Soy Sauce
- 0.125 cup Brown Sugar
- 0.063 cup Rice Vinegar
- 0.063 tablespoon Sesame Oil
- 0.5 cloves Garlic
- 0.25 inch Ginger
- 0.25 cup Green Onions
- 0.25 cup Sliced Scallions
- 1 head Sliced Bok Choy
- 0.5 cup Sliced Shiitake Mushrooms
- 0.063 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to make the char siu sauce.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together garlic, ginger, and green onions to make the garnish.
- In a large pot or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork shoulder and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
- Add the char siu sauce to the pot and stir to coat the pork. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook until the pork is cooked through, about 10 minutes.
- Add the sliced scallions, bok choy, and mushrooms to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 3-5 minutes.
- To assemble the ramen, place some noodles in a bowl, then add slices of pork, bok choy, mushrooms, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
