Ingredients

  • 2 Oranges
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 0.5 cup Zero calorie sugar substitute
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp Water
  • 2 tbsp Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Crushed red pepper
  • 1 tbsp Orange zest

Instructions

  1. Chop all fresh ingredients: oranges, garlic, and ginger
  2. Place a pan on low to medium heat
  3. Squeeze 1-2 fresh oranges into the pan
  4. Add your sugar replacement and mix it into the orange juice
  5. Add your soy sauce, water, garlic, and ginger
  6. Mix well and let reduce about 1/8 of the liquid, stirring frequently to avoid edges burning
  7. Add cornstarch and mix in well, breaking up any clumps
  8. Optionally add 1 tbsp of crushed red pepper
  9. Reduce heat to low and stir until sauce thickens
  10. Remove from heat and allow sauce to thicken more
  11. Optionally strain sauce for a smoother texture
  12. Add 1 tbsp of orange zest and mix in
  13. Serve sauce over chicken and rice or on a chicken sandwich
