Jerk Marinade
This super versatile homemade jerk seasoning from Feed & Teach is loaded with authentic Caribbean flavors including ginger, pimento, fresh thyme, scallion, and more. Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Dried Pimento Berries/Allspice
- 1 cup Fresh Thyme
- 2.5 inches Ginger
- 2.5 Scotch Bonnet Pepper
- 1 cup Onion
- 2.5 heads Garlic
- 4 stalks Scallion
- 2 tsp Cloves
- 2 tsp Nutmeg
- 2.5 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 0.5 cup Soya Sauce
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 0.25 cup Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Browning Sauce
- 0.5 cup Lager Beer
- 0.25 cup Orange Juice
Instructions
- Combine all dry spices (allspice, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, and salt) in a blender or food processor
- Add fresh herbs (thyme and scallion) to the blender
- Add ginger, Scotch Bonnet peppers, diced onion, and peeled garlic cloves
- Add brown sugar to the mixture
- Pour in all liquid ingredients (soya sauce, oil, vinegar, browning sauce, beer, and orange juice)
- Blend all ingredients until smooth and well combined
- Transfer to a container and store in the fridge or freezer for later use
