  • 500 g boneless chicken thighs
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 2 green onions
  • sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dip each piece into the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with cornstarch.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. In another pan, sauté minced garlic over medium heat for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Pour in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens into a glossy consistency.
  8. Add the crispy chicken to the sauce and toss quickly to coat every piece evenly.
