Chocolate Chip Cookie Fries with Fudge Sauce
Honeysuckle transforms her famous chocolate chip cookie dough into crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside fries that are perfect for dipping in rich fudgy chocolate sauce or dunking in milk. This viral TikTok innovation proves that sometimes the best snacks come from reimagining beloved classics.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup brown butter
- 0.75 cup brown sugar
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.25 cup corn starch
- 1.5 cup chocolate chips
- 4 oz chopped chocolate
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Cream together brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined
- Add egg and mix until lava-like in consistency
- Add salt, vanilla extract, and baking soda, then mix
- Add flour and corn starch (corn starch makes them more crispy and less chewy), then mix until combined
- Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed
- Transfer cookie dough onto a parchment-lined baking pan and press flat
- Freeze for about 30 minutes until firm
- Transfer to cutting board and cut into fries (thick steak-cut fries work well)
- Place fries on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for about 12 minutes until golden
- While baking, prepare fudge sauce: place chopped chocolate in a bowl and pour hot cream over it
- Let sit for 1 minute to saturate, then stir until smooth (microwave for a few seconds if needed)
- Once cookies cool, dip thin-cut fries in chocolate sauce or dunk thick-cut fries in milk
