Abalone Sashimi with Sesame-Ginger Dipping Sauce
A refreshing and flavorful dish combining grilled abalone with a creamy sesame-ginger dipping sauce, perfect for a light and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 Whole abalone (frozen)
- 0.75 Abalone pieces/steaks (3 portions)
- 0.25 cup Sesame oil
- 0.5 piece Ginger
- 0.5 cup Soy sauce
- 0.125 cup Honey
- 0.25 cup Green onions
- 0.125 cup Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Thaw the frozen abalone under cold running water, then pat dry with paper towels. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Grill the abalone pieces for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Set aside to cool.
- In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil, grated ginger, soy sauce, honey, and chopped green onions. Stir in sesame seeds.
- Cut the grilled abalone into thin slices and serve with the sesame-ginger dipping sauce.
